20 Fenchurch Street (The Walkie-Talkie)

20 Fenchurch Street is a new skyscraper under construction in the City of London designed by Rafael Vinoly. 39 stories of office space topped by a public sky garden offering year round access and views across the river and City skyline. Dubbed ‘the walkie-talkie’, the tower expands in size at it reaches its top, seemingly to ‘loom’ over the river, whilst opening up space for a public plaza and garden at its base. No sound

    London, I like it!

  3. Nihilanth1982 says:

i absolutely hate the exterior, especially the side where it looks like its slanted sidewards, from a distance it looks terrible. if they straightened this out, then the building would be nice.

I really like this building. Demolition of the site is progressing well. The Shard looks breath taking at the end of the video.

  5. Jordankams says:

I agree this particular skyscraper will be largely unwanted – unbalanced, ugly and arrogant… I think it will quickly become unfashionable. The shard at the end of this clip does look fantastic though – take a few design tips from the architects of that building perhaps?

What a horrible ugly building. A monstrosity. All of the other proposed skyscrapers look good to me, but this is an absolute pig.

planting trees every where in the building wont make it green!!!
u can hav a green bulding withoput any vegetation inside it, the building has to just sustain itself .
i hope they dont have weeds growing in the loo :P

I don’t care what anyone sais… but in my OPINION, this is the only skyscraper i would rather not have built in the City. I just can’t help thinking that the design is trying too hard and will not fit in with the surroundings.

  12. thatmfeeling says:

Its different. I think its kind of cool to have a great variety in styles. I mean the tate and the Lloyds buildings are extremely ugly but they are loved so I think it will be welcomed :)

  13. TomL1991BFD says:

yes, i agree completely. its not in the cluster and the design is ugly

  14. Muskadash says:

Poor deluded fools and philistines, who think that sticking up glass and steel office towers actually enhances a place and makes it great.

  15. JexPAuk says:

    Has its construction already begun?

  23. ogfunk187 says:

at the end of the day, its a horrible shape, no amount of greenery or conceptual jargon can remove that fact.
